The Process of Making Ceramic Tile

Last updated 19 days ago

Ceramic tiles are made from a truly amazing material. They’re resistant to moisture, odors, and fading. In addition, ceramic tiles are fire proof and don’t wear out, no matter how much you walk on them.

This video provides an overview of the manufacturing process for ceramic tile. Ceramic wall tiles start out as a mixture of minerals and powdered chemicals. Water is added and the mixture is sent to heated and pressurized molds, after which the tiles are painted with a ceramic paint and baked for 14 hours in a kiln the size of an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Tile Fantastic offers a wide range of ceramic and porcelain tiles, from monochromatic contemporary options to widely varied artisanal styles. Give us a call today at (888) 864-6319 to find out more.
